The first half of 2017 has been good to the Yamaha Motor Company with global net sales of ¥828 billion ($157 billion AUD).
This was a 6.4% increase on the previous year, while the company also registered a record operating income of ¥82 billion ($15.5b).
Updating the market on its 2017 performance so far, Yamaha reported that in the developed markets business, net sales increased compared with the same period in the previous fiscal year.
The increases were mostly thanks to increased sales of motorcycles, marine, industrial machinery, and electrically power assisted bicycles.
Sales of motorcycles are also on the rise in emerging markets and this, along with sales of higher priced products, profitability improvements in the ASEAN region and structural reform in Brazil, all helped the Yamaha bottomline.
Net sales increased by 6.6% overall, an improvement on the 12 million motorcycles sold globally last year.
Yamaha Motor Co. is a producer of marine products, power products, machinery and of course motorcycles in over 200 countries worldwide.
